ShapeSpace offer a consultancy service for engineering companies looking to rationalise their part libraries and remove duplicate parts. Using our 3D shape search technology it is possible to perform a duplicate analysis and identify all the geometric duplicates within a part library.

A duplicate removal project consists of 4 stages:

Step 1
Conduct ShapeSpace 3D search to scan part libraries and isolate duplicate and near-duplicate parts across an existing product range and parts list.

Step 2
Combine search results with detailed spend analysis to identify high priority candidates for part consolidation.

Step 3
Engineering analysis to categorise consolidation candidates according to engineering effort.

Step 4
Make final business decisions on which part numbers to eliminate based on the spend and technical analysis, assign resource and execute.
